Who we are

A studio that decided to build its own product.

Verbolta is four people in Charlotte, North Carolina. We started by building websites for businesses tired of templates. We are now a software company with a platform of our own in development.

The team

The four people
behind the work.

Evan Scheerer CEO

Founder, CEO & Lead Engineer

Evan Scheerer

Evan founded Verbolta in 2025 and leads it as CEO and lead engineer. He holds a Computer Science degree from Catawba College, where he concentrated on algorithm design and applied AI.

He engineered Tractex on his own. The search pipeline that parses a plain-English brief, the scoring model that ranks a county's worth of parcels against it, and the data layer that reads public records live are all his work — written from a blank file rather than assembled from a framework.

He sets the architecture on client projects before any code is written, and he set the direction of the company: moving Verbolta from client work into building a product of its own was his call.

Zack Murphy

Co-Founder & Chief Financial Officer

Zack Murphy

Zack raised the idea that became Tractex. He studied economics and business at Virginia Military Institute, where he captained the D1 men's soccer team, and today he runs the company's finances — pricing, forecasting, and how each engagement is structured.

Tyler O'Bryan

Co-Founder & Director of Marketing

Tyler O'Bryan

NC State graduate and current MBA student. Tyler owns how Verbolta presents itself, from brand strategy and positioning through to the first conversation with every client.

Trenton Watkins

Co-Founder & Engineer

Trenton Watkins

Computer Science graduate of Virginia Military Institute. Trenton works across security, machine learning integration and full-stack development.

How we got here

Client work first.
Product work next.

  1. 2025

    Verbolta is founded

Four people in Charlotte, one conviction: small businesses were being sold the same template by people who never asked what the business needed. We started building from a blank file instead.

  2. 2025

    First platforms ship

Ageless Athlete and American Track Ascension go live. Both hand-written, both with booking integrations, and both still maintained by us today.

  3. 2026

    The studio turns to product

Client work taught us the parts that actually matter: data modelling, deployment, and being honest about what a system does not know. We started building for ourselves.

  4. Now

    Tractex in development

A land-acquisition workspace that reads public county records live. In private development for the North Carolina market, with the engine and workspace complete and hardening ahead of launch.

How we build

Four rules we
do not bend.

This site is built the same way. Hand-written, no framework, no runtime dependencies, static output. It is the shortest proof we can offer.

From a blank file

No template, no page builder, no theme underneath. Every project starts empty and only gets what it needs.

Data model first

Screens get designed against the real shape of the data, including the parts that are missing or wrong. Happy paths are the easy half.

Honest about unknowns

A system that says "not recorded" is worth more than one that guesses. We build the third state in rather than collapsing it into a no.

Yours at the end

You own the repository, the domain and the hosting account. Nothing we build needs us to keep paying attention to it.

What drives us

Three things we
never compromise on.

01

Craftsmanship

Clean architecture, deliberate decisions, and a level of detail that shows up in how the software behaves a year later — not just on launch day.

02

Candor

We tell you what a thing will cost, what it will not do, and when we are unsure. Software built on optimistic estimates fails quietly and late.

03

Ownership

You own the code, the data and the infrastructure. Nothing we build depends on us staying in the picture.

Websites are where we started, not where we stop. The mission is to build software good enough that the businesses running on it stop thinking about it.
